Wise Flammability Testing Services |

To
minimise the risk of injury or death caused by domestic fires,
the Statutory Instrument 1324 - Furniture and Furnishings
(Fire) (Safety) Regulations 1988 include measures to improve
the fire safety of materials, both coverings and fillings,
used in the construction of domestic furniture. The regulations
cover furniture manufactured in the UK and imported into the
UK from abroad. Furniture intended for contract use (public
houses, theatres etc.) is covered by legislation pertaining
to their particular sector. Conformance with these regulations
is required by law.
Whilst
at Leather Wise we do not undertake flammability testing ourselves,
we are frequently asked by clients for assistance in obtaining
the necessary certification to conform to these regulations,
for example, BS EN 1021:1990 & BS 5852 pt1:1979 Match
and Cigarette tests. Therefore, we are pleased to help you
to get your furniture or materials tested at a UKAS* accredited
laboratory.
The
cost for this service is very competitively priced and depends
on which test method the regulations demand. Please contact
us for a quotation.
