At
Leather Wise we realise that understanding the product you
are manufacturing, sourcing or selling is fundamental to ensuring
customer satisfaction. Unfortunately, the knowledge required
is often lacking (or at best a little shaky!). We have many
years experience of training people from all parts of the
leather industry supply chain and would now like to offer
you this essential service.
All our
clients have differing requirements so we run regular courses
that anyone can attend and we also tailor courses specifically
for individual companies. We can cater from one–to-one
training up to courses of twenty delegates.
All
of our standard courses include a user-friendly, detailed
training manual and Leather Identification Kit for each delegate
to take home.
1 Day Simply Leather Course (1 Day Simply Upholstery Leather
Course)
This course is designed for anyone needing to understand
the basics about leather in a short amount of time – What
do we make it from? How? What does all the jargon mean? How
can I identify different types? What can go wrong? How is
it cared for? This course will start ‘from scratch’ and
is suitable for someone new to leather through to someone
needing a refresher or who just wants to know more.
2 Day Intensive Leather Course
Sometimes you want the opportunity to hold more in-depth
discussions and have more time to get to grips with the
subject of leather. The two day Intensive Leather course
allows this while covering all the topics from the one
day course – plus more!
3
Day Leather Technology Course
This course for those who want to get a bit more serious about
leather. It will teach you the technicalities of the how and
why about each stage of the complex process of making leather.
You don’t have to be a professor or anything like that
to attend this course, but just a little bit of basic chemistry
might be helpful.
The Bits You Need to Know…
The
Courses are held at Leather Wise Premises
Northampton and Wellingborough have excellent motorway links
and are on main rail lines from London and the Midlands.
We can provide details of very reasonable local accommodation
too should you need it.
Tannery Visits
Tannery tours are included in most courses and usually take
place at a nearby commercial tannery or at the British
School of Leather Technology.

Tailored Course
We will always try and meet the needs of our customers and are happy
to carry out courses tailored to the company. They can be held on the
customer’s premises or at Leather Wise – why not let me know what
you
are looking for and we will try to help?
Our standard corporate course rate will be determined
by the number of delegates
that you need to train and can include an optional tannery
tour if held at Leather
Wise premises in Northamptonshire (please ask for details).
We are also able to carry out courses at your site if preferred – this
is particularly cost effective if you have a number of people
to train.
